National SDS Collaboration - Connected Conversations

Are you a supported adult or an unpaid carer?

In Control Scotland are focused on amplifying the voices of lived & loved experience within the National SDS Collaboration through our series of “Connected Conversations”. We know from conversations with supported adults and unpaid carers who have told us that they feel their thoughts and feelings are not adequately represented in national SDS discussions. We aim to change that.

We understand that sometimes it might feel like no one is listening to your thoughts and feelings about Self-Directed Support (SDS) and the help you receive, so we have be asking questions about SDS in Scotland through our Connected Conversations meetings and hearing from people in receipt of social care, and people who support someone in receipt of social care.   We have already asked questions about Outcome 1  'Choice and Control Over Support', Outcome 2 'Your Staff and Support' and Outcome 3 'Being part of the process to decide how you get support' of the National SDS  Improvement Plan and have produced the following learning reports from the feedback we have received at our Connected Conversations meetings.  You can read and download the reports here:​​​​
