PERSON CENTRED PLANNING ACADEMY

THE NEXT GENERATION OF PERSON-CENTRED PLANNERS

The Person Centred Planning Academy supports people with lived and loved experience of disability to become skilled Person Centred Planners.

Through training, practical learning and peer support, participants develop the knowledge and confidence to help people think about what matters to them and plan for the future in ways that reflect their strengths, aspirations and goals.

We are hugely grateful for funding for this programme from the Alliance Self-Management Fund.

PUTTING PEOPLE AT THE CENTRE

Person-centred planning starts with a simple principle: people are the experts in their own lives.

The Academy equips participants with the skills, tools and approaches needed to facilitate conversations that focus on what is important to a person, what good support looks like and how people can achieve the lives they want.

By building planning skills within communities, we help ensure that more people have access to support that is based on their strengths, choices and ambitions.

LED BY LIVED EXPERIENCE

The Academy recognises the value of lived experience in creating meaningful change.

Participants bring their own knowledge, perspectives and insights to the learning process, creating a rich environment where people learn from one another while developing practical skills that can make a real difference in the lives of others.

BUILDING CONFIDENCE AND CAPABILITY

The programme supports participants to develop new skills, build confidence and become part of a growing network of people committed to person-centred approaches.

Many graduates go on to use these skills in their communities, services and organisations, helping others to plan, make decisions and achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.
