ABOUT US
Building a fairer health and social care system
In Control Scotland exists to build a fairer and more inclusive health and social care system where people have greater choice, control and influence over the support and services that affect their lives.
We work alongside disabled people, unpaid carers, communities, practitioners, organisations and decision-makers to challenge what isn't working and develop better ways forward.
Our work is rooted in the belief that lasting change happens when people with lived experience are at the centre of designing, delivering and improving support.
Choice. Control. Community. Change.

WHAT WE DO
Our work is organised around four areas:
Supporting participation, coproduction, and system change so that people's voices shape decisions
Supporting people, organisations, and communities to access knowledge, resources, and practical tools
Our Approach
We believe that people are experts in their own lives. Everything we do is guided by a commitment to:
People with lived experience are not consulted after decisions have been made. They are partners in shaping the work from the beginning.
Human rights
Everyone should have access to support, opportunities and communities that enable them to live a good life.

Person-centred approaches
Support should start with what matters to people, their strengths, aspirations and relationships.
Collaboration
The biggest challenges cannot be solved by organisations working alone. We connect people, communities and organisations to learn and act together.
Coproduction
We create spaces where people can reflect, experiment, share learning and develop better approaches together.
Learning and improvement
